I’m so excited to be included in my first ever Deck the Halls Holiday Home Tour! If you came over from The Leslie Style, thanks for stopping by! Wasn’t her dining room gorgeous? This year I really had to up my holiday decor because of all the fabulous bloggers I’m in company with. Their talent is insane! With that being said, I mostly used what I had on hand and added in lots of greenery and candles to create that rustic but glam Dining Room for the season.
If you’ve been following me for awhile, you know we recently bought our dream fixer upper and are in the final stages of getting our plans approved for the remodel. That hasn’t stopped me from making small changes to the existing house in order to make it more cozy and livable for us now. One of those small improvements was taking down the dated brass and crystal chandelier. I had this large West Elm pendant from my son’s room in our old house sitting around and decided to hang it. I’m so glad I did! It immediately updates the space.
We also have single pane, original windows so I bought a few swags of Trader Joe’s greenery and hung it around the windows to warm them up. Another one went down the center of the table along with my two favorite gold hurricanes I found at Homegoods awhile ago. More candles were added along with some gold chargers, striped napkins and pretty glasses to finish it off.
I wanted to give my guests a little something to take home. I found these plants in the cutest burlap containers at Marshalls and thought they would be enjoyed for months to come.
My acrylic table serves as a landing spot for wine glasses, plates and miscellaneous pretty things. I hung our Advent Calendar above it and the kids just take the day off the wall when we are done with it. I love that it has kind and giving activities on it for each day like Write a Letter to a Soldier. Truly teaches my kids the true meaning of the season. Another Homegoods find!
Snowball cookies are my favorite this time of year. What’s not to love about butter, sugar and pecans?
We moved the Christmas tree from our living room into this corner of the dining room. I like that it’s the first thing you see when driving up to our house. Believe or not it’s from Walmart and they still carry it! Many of the gifts under the tree are from the Target dollar section like the gold tote and California glasses.
As much as I love how this room turned out, it’s the people and memories that I love the most who will be enjoying it. I know you have a million and one things to do during this busy time of year so thank you SO much for checking out my dining room. Next stop is my dear friend Loithai who shares the same love of neutrals as I do. His dining room is sure to be a stunner! Special thanks to my dear friend Megan Gery for the pretty pictures of my house!
